England vs Czech Republic

Seeing as Sky wanted to be ass holes and let someone nick the rights to play England games I couldn’t watch the game live so I had to wait until 10:45pm to watch the England game on the highlights even tho I already know the score.

After not even getting to Euro 2008 England had to start to repay the faith the England fans have kept in the side, so going up against Czech Republic the last game before England start the road to the World Cup 2010, well to start of the match we found out that England are ranked 15th in the world, and to be honest I think that is a bit unfair on the ranking as over the last couple of years there have been more then 14 clubs better then us,

we have a strong looking line up the only thing I do go for is that we still keeping Joe Cole on the bench when he is a gifted Left Midfielder something that England have been missing for some time now even tho we have Stuart Downing and Joe Cole just the top of the list that can come in and come up to the level

Czech Republic took the lead in the match and to be honest we gave them the goal, at first I don’t know where the hell our right back was leaving the right side of defence that open that Czech Republic was able to get the ball down there and play with it, but overall Czech was lucky to get the goal as the wrack it took off Ashley Cole it should have really gone down as a own goal, seeing as James would have had the ball if it didn’t hit Cole

After the goal England did look like they wanted to get back into the game, just a chance that we still feel that we can score goals out side the box when at the moment we cant, we just don’t have the shooters they may do it for there clubs but they don’t do it when it comes to the National side, all the pressure we put one Czech did pay off in the hell when a corner from the right from Beckham was met superb by Wes Brown to knock it in the back of the net

seeing as the goal come from a corner I just would like to know why do Terry and Ferdinand even bother to come up for a free kick when its Beckham standing over the ball, I will never understand that as for some reason Beckham thinks he is the only player on the pitch when he gets the ball for a free kick, don’t get me wrong Beckham for me is still one of the best Right Midfielder we have had for some years now,

Half Time England went in level, the player of the half for me as to be Steven Gerrard he played great out of place on the left wing, knocking some great balls into the box for Defoe just sadly Defoe couldn’t make anything of the balls that he was getting, the restart of the match was with out Defoe which for me was the wrong move, Defoe was 2nd on my list for player of the half but then again I have been wrong to question subs that the England manager has made before,

Czech Republics 2nd goals was a great free kick don’t get me wrong but it should have never been given in the first place, England where 5’s at the back and made a silly tackle and gave away the lead, but at least again since the goal went England didn’t drop there head they attacked and tried to get the game back on lead pecking,

England 2nd sub was Joe Cole to come on for Steven Gerrard I have to say I know this is a friendly but my god what the hell is Capello was thinking by doing this taking off one of the better England players on the night when you have Barry and Lampard in the middle of the park who have done nothing to be honest for me,

the Czech could have been 3-1 if it wasn’t for the fact that the Czech player took to long with the ball and ended up in a back spot to shoot, as the hole of the England back line stop as they fought it was offside but one of the Czech players carried on and silly James come shooting out of his box and was run pass like he wasn’t even there.

I know the England 2nd goal was a mess but a goal is a goal and England will take that one even tho it looks like it was a own goal, this is probably the only England game I can not pick a man of the match but then again I was only watching the highlights

Full Time Score England 2-2 Czech Republic 2

France 1-0 England

Posted by Wayne Saliba | Football | Wednesday 26 March 2008 11:15 pm

england-flag.jpgLast night we saw our boys go up against the mighty France and lose 1-0 thanks to a cock up by David James in goal who brought down the one and only cheat Nicolas Anelka, when the match started and I knew he was playing I turned to Alan who was watching the game with me and said that big nose twat will score, so I was half right he got the spot kick that won them the game,

To be honest no team did enough to win the game no team stood out as the winners but sadly it come to that and they won on the spot kick, but going to the start line up it wasn’t a bad starting up, but if I was manager I would keep playing this 451 that Fabio Capello is playing at the mo as it not working and the attacker he is putting up front is not a lone striker Rooney is more of a Attacking Midfielder he is not a lone attacker if they wanted to play that they should of played a 4-4-1-1 and have Rooney just behind Owen but Fabio Capello did change it in the 2nd half he brought on Crouch and Owen, Sadly they didn’t get that much balls towards them and the ones they got they didn’t really make the keeper work for the ball, its just a good thing that it was a friendly and nothing else there where good things to take out of the match, there wasn’t to many fook ups from the back line and the keeper the team where holding the ball and looking for passes and not rushing the game so it looks like Fabio Capello will do great things with England if not the fans will let him know about it.

I may as well talk about it as everyone else as and that is David Beckham winning his 100th Cap for England, Yes he is a great player and he as done a lot for England but it is about time we stop looking in the past and start to look at the players that are going win England shit the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips and David Bentley just to players that can play on the wing where Beckham plays, I may say no one can cross like Beckham or pass like him or even take a free kick like him but that is in the past, as I said we need to look on and see who can take us to be challenging the likes of Italy, France, Brazil for the World Cup, England should be a name people fear when we play them not a name that makes them think ooo wait we can get something from this game

I don’t go to the games but I do watch every England match on TV and last night it was one of the worst games we have played the first half we was all over them but then the goal come and that was it the match died from there, England had a couple of good shots but to be honest I didn’t see any heart from the players the best bit of showing heart was when Beckham was upset about coming off half way through the 2nd half, the Key players for England are just lacking the heart they have playing for there club I just hope that Capello see this and does something about it weather its talk to the players or drop them, I am English and I hate seeing my National team lose so bloody much I want to be proud to be English for once

Carling Cup Weekend

Posted by Wayne Saliba | Football | Monday 25 February 2008 7:34 am

Welcome to my blog its been a couple of days since i entered one but that was due to not having the time to get something to come to mind but i am starting this now so hopefully something will come to mind in the end to well that is the plan only a matter of time to see if it turns out that way.

After being away from Wembley for 8 years the Carling Cup was back at the home of English football and Tottenham was the happier fan base leaving the ground after coming from 1-0 down to a some what of a bad call from the referee but Tottenham did draw the game level with a spot kick of there own but this time the ref got it spot on Wayne Bridge used his hand to get the ball under control and the lineman spotted it and sign to the referee what he had saw the game ended with it being 1-1 to take it to extra time, I turned it over and forgot about extra time but when i did turn it back Tottenham where 2-1 up thanks to Woodgate going up for a corner and getting his head on it to get his first Tottenham goal and what i time to get it i may be a Millwall fan but it was a happy time for me seeing Chelsea losing just goes to show that money cant buy you titles and cups.

There wasn’t just the carling cup this weekend there was a hole lot of football being played it was a great weekend for football well that was for the fans anyways it wasn’t that great for Arsenal player Eduardo after playing Birmingham the 3rd min of the game he was hit with a tackle that could see him being out of the game for a hell of a long time that is if he comes back, if you didn’t watch the match Eduardo was sadly hit with a tackle that saw him break his leg i would put pictures up but seeing them after it happen it was just a sick thing to look at, the Birmingham player got sent of for the tackle i didn’t see the tackle so i couldn’t judge the referee on that one but even being down to 10 men Birmingham come at Arsenal and they took the lead but they lost the lead and found them self down 2-1 until the 93rd min when the Arsenal full back Gael Clichy was to have foul Stuart Parnaby in the box but looking at the tackle i am sorry for any Birmingham fans reading but what a cheat that player is there was no foul there and i have seen the tackle about 10 times but these things happen in football so James McFadden steps up and powers it home from the spot to get his 2nd of the game and to give Birmingham the point which was well earned by Birmingham overall.

Other games this weekend saw Middlesbrough go 1-0 up against Liverpool but Torres had didn’t ideas about that game and won it for Liverpool by getting his first Hat-Trick in the league for Liverpool to win the game 3-2 that wasn’t the only high scoring game this week Man Utd beating poorly Newcastle 5-1 Rooney and Ronaldo was having fun against Newcastle and picking up 2 goals each rounded off a great game for them to cut the lead that Arsenal have to 3 points as Arsenal fail to win early in the day against Birmingham, yet another lost to add to the poor old Derby this weekend at the hands of Wigan at the JJB doesn’t matter how hard Derby try they just cant get any points but at least they will have the team to come back up next season when they go down

A round up off all the score from this weekend premiership games

Brighton carry on there march up the league one table with another win this weekend against Oldham this weekend win took them 11th in the table just 7 points away from the play offs, Leyton Orient carry on falling down the table with another home 1-0 lost this weekend at the hands of Nottingham Forest after a good start Leyton Orient really haven’t got back that form they had at the start of the season now down to the bottom of the table Millwall climb up to 18th in the league this weekend after a 3-0 win at home against Port Vale and Leeds had to come back from 1-0 down to take a point away from Crewe in the dieing mins of the game Gillingham did there season good by beating Huddersfield 1-0 at home to take them out the drop zone.

League Two:-
Dag & Red keep the good run up with another 2-0 win this weekend to take them up to 19th in the league and they open up a 6 point gap between them and Mansfield who is laid in 23rd spot in the league, MK Dons carry on there winning ways and are still laid 1st of the league with a 2-0 away win against Barnet but they could make the gap bigger as Darlington and Hereford both picked up wins.

Tuesday Night Football

Posted by Wayne Saliba | Football | Wednesday 20 February 2008 1:37 pm

Yet another Tuesday as come around which means yet another midweek game there was a wide range of games played last night from Champion League knockout games to the first leg of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern area final tie, but due to the weather there wasn’t many games that actually went through but from the games that did make it through the weather there was a lot of surprise packages like Liverpool beating Inter Milan 2-0 when they had trouble against Havant and Waterloo and lost at the weekend to Barnsley but hey that is football for you if the big teams won every game they played in this sport wouldn’t be any fun any more but the glory of the upsets are what keep a lot of fans coming back.

Other games that took place last night was Chelsea also in the champion league knockout but unlike Liverpool they couldn’t score but then again they kept a clean sheet to take Olympiakos back to there home ground Stamford Bridge on a level score line but that wasn’t the news that was on the Chelsea bosses mind today the news that was on his mind was the death threats on not just his life but also his wife life

Its things like that which give the game a bad name I really just don’t see why people would do this, Avram Grant as been hired to do his job and this is what he gets for doing his job well I am surprise that we have a lot of the top manager still in the game after seeing crap like this, I know a lot of them are fake just to scary the manager but it still doesn’t have a place in the world football but then again you can say that about a lot of things, in time I am sure that this will all been removed from the game of football so that manager can do what they do best and not have the feeling of someone going to send them or there family a death threat
There was a football league matches on this Tuesday as well but a lot of them got called off through to the weather just like in league two no games where played but in league one there was 2 games that got the all clear from the weather but then again after listen to the Millwall game I really thing that should of been called off, as from what I could work out from listening was that the referee had a hard game seeing the players and the goal that actually got Huddersfield all 3 points was actually a spot kick that shouldn’t of been giving but there is nothing that can be done now, the FA just really need to clear out the shit referee they have and bring some guys in that actually know what they are doing the other League one match that was on was Brighton up against Cheltenham Town both clubs in need of some points to get them clear from the drop zone but the winners of last night game was Brighton with to late goals.

There was one other match last night you had Swansea going up against MK Dons in the first leg of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern area final tie, both these clubs are at the top of there league but seeing as Swansea where top of league one I fought it would be Swansea fans that where the happy fans at the end of the game but it was the League Two leaders that go into the 2nd leg with a 1-0 lead

Well this is my blog entry on last night football I hope you enjoy reading it just as much as I did writing it and please do come back and tell your friends about my site

FA Cup 4th Round Weekend

Posted by Wayne Saliba | Football | Sunday 17 February 2008 1:29 pm

Welcome to my weekend blog this will now be a blog about the weekend football and seeing as this week was also the FA Cup weekend it will be mainly about the FA Cup so here goes.

The day matches kicked off with Bristol Rover the league one side going up against the mainly Southampton of the Championship, everyone would of fought this one would have been easy for Southampton but like most FA Cup games they had there work cut out for them and Bristol Rovers come at Southampton and against took the game with a Rickie Lambert who also celebrated his 26th birthday and sending his team through to the Q-Finals of the FA Cup don’t think he could have asked for anything better for his birthday,

Although that was a upset with in it self that wasn’t the biggest upset of the day the biggest one was Liverpool losing at home against Barnsley 2-1, it all look set for a replay but then Barnsley pop up with a last-gasp winning goal through Brian Howard, this looks like the end for Liverpool manager he as to do something out of this world and win the Champion League again with Liverpool or his run as Liverpool manager looks like it is coming to a end

There was 4 other games on Saturday and them games where Cardiff going up against Wolves and knocking them out, Chelsea knocking 3 in past Huddersfield to go through to the next round of the FA Cup but the high scorers of the day where West Brom playing away from home against a strong team like Coventry and they ended up knocking in 5 goals in to win the match 5-0 but the heart break of the day must have been with Arsenal went down 4-0 to premiership rivals Manchester Utd away from home during the match Arsenal just didn’t look like they was up for this match they just fall apart as soon as the game was started

There are 2 more games to be played in the FA Cup to finishes of this round and they are being played today and the matches are as followed Preston North End who beat Derby in the last round going up against Portsmouth and Sheff Utd who scored that lucky goal to knock Manchester City out of the last round going up against Middlesbrough and that game is live on BBC One at 13:45pm.

There was leagues matches played today so that mean Millwall was up against the wall trying to get clear of the drop zone but it wasn’t to be today going down 2-0 against Tranmere will not help as getting clear of the drop zone but at least Gillingham got a beaten by Northampton to keep as just on the out side of the bottom 4, our next couple of games we are up against clubs that are near us so we really need to get points from these games as it getting closer to the end of the season

Well this is the round up off the FA Cup 4th Round Weekend until next time thanks for reading
